READY TO GET STARTED (2013)

A LONG TERM COMMITMENT (2013)

RESIDENTS PROMOTE BEACH WORK
(2013)

“Fueled by a citizen-based initiative that footed more than $100,000 to have a nourishment plan drafted, Quogue Village has been flirting with the idea of undergoing beach nourishment for more than three years.”

BUYING TIME
(2014)

“Though still in its infancywork was only completed in January—the so-called beach nourishment project is being touted as a resounding success and a model for oceanfront communities looking to stem the effects of beach erosion and rising sea levels.”

JUNO PUNISHES EAST END
(JANUARY 2015)

“Along with whipping snow into mountainous drifts, strong winds caused beach erosion and some minor flooding along low-lying areas of the bayfront. But severe flooding was avoided because the storm’s track meant that the strongest winds came from the north and not the east and southeast.”

BEACH NOURISHMENT CALLED A BIG SUCCESS (2016)

“A 2016 annual beach monitoring update completed in July showed that there is now more than 310,000 cubic yards of additional sand in the dunes of the project area—and Southampton Town officials say those fortified dunes are providing increased protection to the shoreline.”
