On behalf of the board of our Foundation, I warmly congratulate CCQ on inviting Dr. Young and the positive message that emerged. As a long term resident of Quogue, I have watched the progressive erosion for more than thirty years and been involved (too long!) in various initiatives for action.
The more westerly areas have escaped but the erosion has moved relentlessly from east to west following the breach at Shinnecock and the lamentable failure to cope with its effects.
This is a matter that should concern anyone who enjoys any part of Quogue’s 2.7 miles of superb beach and indeed the whole community, inland as well as near the shoreline. A breach will do irreparable damage.
