The SDBF is pleased to inform its members and neighbors that under the leadership of Mayor Peter Sartorious and the Village Board, a Coastal Advisory Committee has been formed. The committee is comprised of two SDBF board members, (Marjorie Kuhn & Bob Friedman), two CCQ board members, (Terry Young & Bill Horak), and three unaffiliated citizens from Quogue, (Kittric Motz, Wyck Coddington, & Andrew Lynch).
The committee’s Mission will be to examine the condition of Quogue’s coastline and beach, determine whether a problem exists (IT DOES!), and what steps should be taken by the Village to address them and recommend how the cost of any action should be allocated.
The process will be as follows:
PURPOSE: summarize current flooding and erosion vulnerabilities.
IDENTIFY: Alternatives.
SEEK public input.
GAIN consensus from the community.
RECOMMEND a course of action to the Village Trustees.
